koru #187

Last night my friend Andria sent me this koru. Her timing was uncanny as hundreds (perhaps thousands by this point) of acres of Northern New Mexico are currently burning. Across the northeastern part of the state the skies are choked with smoke and it is raining ash in Santa Fe. Although the cause of the newest fire which currently threatens the Los Alamos National Labs is still unknown, and dry thunderstorms are forecast for this afternoon, I can only echo Smokey's words: Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires. And yes, despite what I always thought about the desert, it is forests that are burning, tall ponderosa pines and pinon. Please pray for rain.

Have you seen the new "Garden of Love" forever stamps yet? Neither had I until my mom sent me a letter stamped with one the other day. She even labeled it to be sure I wouldn't miss the korus (you can see the arrow she drew at the lower left of the stamp). Thanks Mom!

Forgot to post this last night. Found this book in my friend John's library. I love the way the reflections make it look like a moonlit landscape. "The Black Box: An Illustrated Field Guide to Transformation" by Tish Bastian.

koru #167

Yes, another guest koru. I just got feedback on my novel and got distracted with plotting and research. It's a good one though, again from my parents who found this little wire darling on a London sidewalk, just sitting there waiting to be noticed. Love that.

koru #166

So this morning I got an email from my father entitled "octokoru" with the following picture attached. After pressing him for more details, he told me it was a photo of a picture, I'm guessing, hanging on the walls of the Seattle Aquarium, where he and my mother spent the day celebrating her birthday (happy birthday mom!). So very cool. Thanks dad!
